Job Description
What If Your Next Career Is One You’ve Never Considered?
Peachtree Planning | Brentwood, Tennessee | In-Office
You’ve worked hard to build your career. You’ve developed skills, built relationships, solved problems, and found ways to make a difference in the work you do.
But have you ever considered that the skills you’ve developed could lead you somewhere entirely different?
At Peachtree Planning, we’re interested in connecting with professionals who are ready to explore what’s next—even if financial planning has never been on their radar.
You may not have a finance degree. You may have no experience in financial services. You may not know what it takes to become a Financial Advisor.
That’s okay. We’re interested in what you bring to the table, not just where you’ve been.
Some of the qualities that matter most in financial planning aren’t exclusive to the financial industry. They’re developed through experience: building trust, communicating with different people, navigating challenges, solving problems, and taking ownership of results.
If you’ve built a career around people, relationships, leadership, or business development, you may have more in common with this profession than you realize.
And it may be worth discovering what those strengths could become.
A Career Built Around People, Purpose, and PossibilityFinancial planning is about much more than investments, markets, or numbers.
It’s about people and the decisions that shape their lives.
It’s helping a family prepare for the future, guiding a business owner through an important transition, or helping someone make sense of the financial decisions standing between where they are today and where they want to be.
As a Financial Advisor, you have the opportunity to build lasting relationships with individuals, families, and business owners while helping them bring greater clarity and direction to their financial lives.
That requires more than technical knowledge. It requires curiosity, empathy, sound judgment, communication, and the ability to understand what matters most to another person.
It also requires initiative, business acumen, and a willingness to keep learning.
Financial planning brings together relationship building, problem solving, business development, and personal growth in a career where your work can have a lasting impact.
Your Experience Could Be the Starting PointYou don’t have to follow a traditional path to find success in financial planning.
Professionals from sales, healthcare, education, hospitality, management, consulting, and other fields often develop skills that translate naturally into an advisory career.
Consider what you’ve already learned to do:
Build trust. Develop relationships and become someone others rely on.
Communicate with purpose. Listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, and make complex ideas easier to understand.
Solve problems. Evaluate situations, identify opportunities, and help people navigate important decisions.
Create opportunities. Build networks, develop relationships, and recognize potential where others may not.
Lead with confidence. Take initiative, influence outcomes, and work effectively with different personalities.
Own your results. Set goals, stay accountable, and take responsibility for your professional growth.
You may have developed these abilities in a completely different industry. That experience still matters.
The question isn’t whether your résumé looks like that of a traditional Financial Advisor.
The question is whether your strengths, ambitions, and interests could translate into this profession.
Build a Career With Room to GrowOne of the most compelling aspects of financial planning is the opportunity to develop a career that evolves with you.
As you gain experience, deepen your expertise, and build client relationships, you can work toward greater responsibility and ownership of your professional future.
That journey can offer several meaningful opportunities:
Relationships That Last
Develop long-term relationships with clients who value your guidance through changing circumstances, important milestones, and generational decisions.
Expertise That Compounds
Build specialized knowledge and professional skills that become increasingly valuable as you grow.
Ownership of Your Future
Take an active role in developing your career, cultivating relationships, and building an advisory practice.
Income Potential Tied to Growth
Pursue opportunities for income growth as your experience, client relationships, and practice develop. Compensation and results depend on performance and the structure of the opportunity.
A Practice With Lasting Value
Work toward building a professional reputation, a network of relationships, and a practice that can become an important part of your long-term future.
Work With Meaning
Help people make informed decisions about the resources they’ve worked hard to build and the future they want to create.
This isn’t a shortcut to success. Building a successful advisory practice takes time, persistence, continuous learning, and a commitment to developing relationships.
But for the right person, it can be an opportunity to build something far beyond the next job title.
Who Might Thrive in This Profession? You don’t need to have your next career mapped out already. You simply need to be open to exploring a different path.
Financial planning may be worth a closer look if you:
Have demonstrated success and want to challenge yourself in a new environment.
Enjoy meeting people and developing meaningful professional relationships.
Are a strong communicator who listens as well as they speak.
Like solving problems and helping others make informed decisions.
Are self-motivated and comfortable taking initiative.
Want greater ownership of your professional development and results.
Are willing to learn a new industry and invest in your own growth.
Find fulfillment in helping others work toward important goals.
You don’t have to check every box. What matters is having the character, motivation, and willingness to develop the skills this profession demands.
New Industry. New Skills. New Possibilities.Changing careers can feel like starting over. The good news is that you don’t leave your experience behind when you enter a new profession.
You bring your perspective, work ethic, communication skills, relationships, and lessons learned along the way.
At Peachtree Planning, professionals entering financial services have access to training, coaching, mentorship, planning resources, and experienced professionals to support their development.
As you progress, you’ll work toward developing the technical knowledge, professional capabilities, and required licenses and registrations needed for the role.
You’ll learn how to approach financial planning, work with clients, evaluate their needs, and develop the relationships that support a successful advisory practice.
There is a learning curve, and the path requires commitment. But you don’t have to arrive knowing everything.
You need to be willing to learn, ready to put in the work, and motivated to become better over time.
Technical knowledge can be developed. Your character, curiosity, discipline, and ability to earn trust are qualities you bring with you.
Why Peachtree Planning? At Peachtree Planning, we believe financial planning should begin with the client—not with a financial product.
Every person, family, and business owner has a different story, different priorities, and a different vision for the future. Our approach begins with understanding those differences and helping clients see how the pieces of their financial lives fit together.
Our purpose is simple:
We exist for the benefit of clients and teammates—for positive outcomes and generational impact in their lives.
That purpose shapes the kind of professional we want to develop: someone who values relationships, approaches decisions thoughtfully, takes their responsibilities seriously, and understands that trust is earned over time.
For someone entering the industry, this is an opportunity to learn more than financial concepts or products. It’s an opportunity to develop the judgment, communication skills, and professional discipline required to become a trusted Financial Advisor.
It’s also an opportunity to discover what you’re capable of when you apply your existing strengths to a new challenge.
Your Next Chapter Could Start With a ConversationYou may be completely satisfied with your current career. Or you may be wondering what else is possible.
Either way, you don’t have to make a career decision to explore an opportunity.
Sometimes the most valuable step is simply learning about a profession you hadn’t considered before, asking questions, and deciding whether it deserves a closer look.
If you’re an ambitious, relationship-oriented professional curious about building a career in financial planning, we’d welcome the opportunity to connect.
You may not have set out to become a Financial Advisor. But your next career could begin with discovering why you might be well suited for one.
