X-Ray Technologist (PRN/Per Diem)

Description Now Hiring – X-Ray Technologist Location: Various Locations (Avon, Bloomfield, Enfield, Glastonbury, Rocky Hill) Job Summary Under the general supervision of the radiologist, provides diagnostic service for patients of all ages undergoing diagnostic studies in the department of radiology. Multi-skilled technologists demonstrate the skill to use two or more radiographic equipment to produce quality images for radiological diagnosis. On-the-job training for those that are x-ray experienced and willing to be cross trained. Must accurately interpret a physician’s instructions, routine procedural protocols, prepare and operate the radiographic and mammographic equipment, associated software and equipment and position the patient to capture the appropriate images. Document all patient related information in radiology information system in a timely manner based on patient and radiologist workflow. Acquire patients' chart data/requisition and reviews both to determine correct room set-up and learn of any specific medical problems, contraindications to the study and verify that the study being ordered correlates to the diagnostic needs. Maintain all aspects of the radiographic and mammographic area including technical and clerical components to ensure proper quality assurance results, maintenance of required documentation and keep the area in a state of inspection readiness and compliance. If mammography certified: Actively participate and maintain detailed follow up of BIRADS category 0 mammographic records to ensure compliance with MQSA/ACR requirements. If MRI certified: Screen patients, employees, and visitors to maintain a magnetically safe environment according to the American College of Radiology standards. Educate patients regarding procedure, equipment, and exam to ensure understanding and safety. Provide coverage as needed (i.e., in the event of call off or extended patient schedules). Provide instruction/mentoring to new hires. Continuously strive to learn new technical information and skills through attendance of periodic in-service programs and participation in professional affiliation programs. Requirements

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE QUALIFICATIONS:

American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), RT Required: Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (RTR).
