The Software Engineering Manager role is responsible for leading and managing a team of software engineers (front‑end, backend and full‑stack). The focus will be on developing the people and processes that contribute to the timely delivery of innovative, secure, and high‑quality solutions. This role will partner with DevSecOps and Software Architecture teams, and will be a hands‑on manager ensuring the successful design, development, testing, and maintenance of high‑quality solutions that support the MPC business. Key Responsibilities Manage daily operations of the team, providing guidance, mentorship, and driving a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Oversee recruitment, development, retention, and performance to build strong talent. Plan and lead low‑ to medium‑complexity IT projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and adherence to quality standards. Ensure the availability, reliability, and security of technology systems. Collaborate with key stakeholders and internal groups to identify needs, deliver effective solutions, and support business objectives. Drive excellence in software delivery using agile methodologies and DevSecOps principles, ensuring fast, frequent, and secure product releases with operational excellence. Establish and align engineering roadmaps with business objectives, participate in architectural discussions, and ensure consistency across solutions. Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, fostering feedback loops and providing clear updates on delivery progress, risks, and achievements. Lead the team through change and transformation initiatives. Manage budgets, track metrics, ensure compliance with IT policies and standards, and identify opportunities for technology adoption and process optimization. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other computer‑related field. 10+ years of diversified IT experience. 3+ years of direct or indirect leadership experience. Strong understanding of software development design and Agile practices/methodologies. Excellent knowledge of software reliability best practices and automated testing. Proficiency in C++, C#, Java, Python, JavaScript, Blazor, ReactJS, or Angular. Knowledge of DBMS and TSQL or PL/SQL. Working knowledge of DevSecOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, Azure DevOps), Infrastructure as Code concepts, and application security practices. Experience migrating monolithic architectures to a modern technology stack and building cloud‑native solutions (Azure). Experience with development platforms such as Azure, Salesforce, Docker, Kubernetes, and building APIs for internal and external products. Excellent organizational, leadership, decision‑making and communication skills. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other computer‑related field. 10+ years of diversified IT experience. 3+ years of direct or indirect leadership experience.
