JOB SUMMARY:

Kitchen Stewards will perform multiple tasks and duties within the entire kitchen as instructed by Food and Beverage Management and/or Supervisor.  Duties include washing dishes, cleaning facilities and cooking in a number of capacities. This position is a grade 2/$16.00 per hour.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Wash dishes, sweep and mop floors, clean equipment, take out trash and cardboard boxes.
2. Assist Cooks with minor cooking duties.
3. Responsible for maintaining accurate rotating stock items.
4. Responsible for cross training to perform multiple Food and Beverage functions as directed by Food and Beverage management and supervisor.
5. Must be courteous and respectful toward everyone including employees, supervisors, managers, and guests.
6. Identify concerns in the kitchen operation and report it to management.
7. Responsible for maintaining a clean work area and follow all principles of safety and sanitation.
8. Follows all instructions and performs all tasks as assigned by Food and Beverage management and supervisor.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
• Must demonstrate cooperation and support skills and willingness to learn.
• Must follow established personal hygiene guidelines and report to work clean and well-groomed.
• Must be positive and willing to work in a multi-cultural team environment.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must have excellent attendance.
• Must be available to work all shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be able to receive and provide direction in English.

REASONING ABILITY:

• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and balance multiple priorities successfully.
• Must be able to anticipate and respond to guest needs in a timely manner regarding both internal and external guests. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Must be able to lift and move 40 to 60 pounds frequently.
• Must be able to frequently bend, squat, kneel, and stoop throughout each 8–10-hour shift.
• Must be able to sit, stand and walk for prolonged periods.
• Must be able to stand on tiled, rubber-mat, and carpeted floors for extended periods of time up to 10 hours at a time.
• Must be able to occasionally lift 50-100 pounds from floor level to chest level during each 8–10-hour shift.
• Must have good vision, hearing, manual dexterity, and flexibility.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

• Ability to work in a team environment is necessary.
• Must be able to work in crowded areas containing high noise levels.
• Always remain sensitive to cultural diversity in the workplace.
• Responsible in the use of potentially hazardous equipment including but not limited to; commercial mixers, steamers, fryers, food processors and sharp knives.
• Ability to work with some standard cleaning solutions and detergents, always using appropriate safety equipment and precautions. 
• Must be able to constantly work under close surveillance cameras.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

• Candidates selected for employment will be subject to Employment reference and Background check.
• Must obtain and maintain a Sky Ute Casino Resort Staff license.
• Must comply fully with all Sky Ute Casino’s Policies and Procedures, Gaming Code Regulations, and any applicable policies and regulations set forth by the Casino Resort.
• Must maintain strict confidentiality at all times, including personnel data, gaming regulations and compliance.
