Description

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a Level 1 Trauma Center OR position requiring 3+ years of experience in a Level I/II trauma center or large teaching hospital.

Details

• 5x8 day shift schedule, 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM
• Every other weekend requirement (2 weekends per month)
• No block scheduling and no special scheduling requests approved
• No call requirements
• Mandatory float facility, may require floating to other units or facilities within 50 miles
• Cerner EMR used for charting

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a Level I or Level II trauma center or large teaching hospital
• Strong experience required in multiple services including Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Vascular, and Trauma
• BLS certification required
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential through NBSTA or NCCT required
• Illinois state license required (license required if applicable, no pending licenses accepted)
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required
• Proof of COVID vaccine required with no exceptions

Additional Information

• Work in a Level 1 Trauma Center setting
• Support surgical cases across Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Vascular, and Trauma services
• May be floated outside primary area of competency using a team-based support model
• RTO limited to 5 days max with no more than 2 consecutive days, no weekend RTO approved
• No RTO permitted on holidays or the day before/after a holiday
• Local candidates accepted and preferred within 75 miles of the facility
• Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of accepting an offer
• First-time travelers may be considered
