Personal Care Assistant – Hillcrest Caring Companions Service Line: Hillcrest Caring Companions Schedule: All Shifts Available | Weekday & Weekend Opportunities Hillcrest Caring Companions is looking for compassionate, dependable, and service-minded Personal Care Assistants to provide one-on-one support to clients in their homes and residences. Caring Companions helps aging adults remain safe, comfortable, and as independent as possible in the place they call home. As a Personal Care Assistant, you will provide personalized support based on each client’s individual plan of care, helping with everyday needs while building meaningful relationships along the way. What You’ll Do As a Personal Care Assistant , you will provide individualized assistance based on each client’s care plan, helping them remain safe, comfortable, and supported in their daily routines. You will: Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, transfers, ambulation, grooming, personal hygiene, and incontinence care. Provide support with household and daily-living needs such as light housekeeping and laundry. Assist with meal preparation and other nutrition-related needs. Provide medication reminders as outlined in the client’s plan of care. Assist with grocery shopping, errands, and medical appointments as directed. Review each client’s care plan before the start of the scheduled shift. Become familiar with each client’s individual needs, preferences, and priorities. Observe clients for changes in condition, including falls, weakness, cognitive changes, changes in appetite, or decreased mobility. Promptly communicate changes or concerns through the appropriate process. Accurately document completed care and services for each shift. Use Hillcrest’s Electronic Visit Verification system to clock in and out and complete required documentation. Maintain dependable and timely communication with Caring Companions office staff. Provide care with respect for each client’s privacy, dignity, choices, and independence. Follow established safety, infection-control, and client-care procedures. Build positive relationships with clients and families through consistency, communication, and compassionate service. Complete required training, continuing education, and team meetings. Assist with additional client-care responsibilities as assigned. The position includes both activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living, along with required electronic visit verification and documentation for each scheduled shift. Ideal candidates will have: A compassionate, patient, and respectful approach to care. A genuine interest in working with aging adults. Strong reliability and punctuality. Ability to work independently in clients’ homes and residences. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Good judgment and ability to recognize when a client’s condition or needs have changed. Strong attention to detail. Ability to follow an individualized care plan. A calm and flexible approach when client needs or schedules change. Comfort using a mobile application for scheduling and documentation. Willingness to travel between client locations. A helpful mentality and willingness to support clients with both personal care and everyday needs. Education & Credentials High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience working with aging adults or providing personal-care services preferred. Current driver’s license required. Must maintain required automobile insurance coverage. Physical & Other Requirements Must be able to speak, read, and write English. Must be able to independently lift up to 35 pounds. Must be able to perform repetitive sitting, standing, bending, walking, reaching, and other movements associated with personal care. Must have a working cell phone capable of running Hillcrest’s approved mobile application. Must be able to utilize technology and available resources efficiently and effectively. Must be flexible and calm when supporting clients and families during stressful situations. Must be able to travel to multiple work locations.
