RN Staff Nurse Outpatient Oncology Infusion Casual

Job Description The RN Staff Nurse Outpatient role reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medicine, adheres to the Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and accreditation standards. Responsibilities Collect and analyze data, identify expected outcomes, develop and implement an individualized plan of care, coordinate care delivery, and evaluate progress toward outcomes. Direct care and determine appropriate utilization of any assistants involved in direct patient care. Involve patient/family in care, including teaching, continuum of care, and discharge planning. Perform all aspects of patient care in a manner that optimizes patient safety and reduces likelihood of errors, incorporating National Patient Safety Goals. Adequately assess and reassess pain, utilize appropriate pain management techniques, and educate patient and family on pain management methods. Demonstrate effective hand-offs to the next healthcare provider. Assume required on‑call assignments. Required Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (required for all new hires after 01/01/2011). Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois. One year of experience in a similar role. CPR – Basic Life Support. CPR – Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). CPR – Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). This is not required in Cost Center 2084 – CDH OPIC. This is not required in Outpatient Oncology departments. This is not required in Cost Center 2130 – Outpatient Pediatric. PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support. This is not required in Cost Center 2050 – Endoscopy Lab. This is not required in Cost Center 2084 – CDH OPIC. This is not required in Outpatient Oncology departments. Candidates have up to 6 months after hire to complete for Cost Center 2130 – Outpatient Pediatric. Preferred Qualifications Three years of experience in a similar role.
