Summary:
The Theologian in Residence will serve The Daily Grace Co. as a senior theological voice, writer, and strategistproducing and guiding the companys most theologically significant resources. This role is responsible for developing and authoring Bible studies, books, and content that define TDGCs theological vision while mentoring the editorial team and ensuring every product aligns with Scripture, gospel clarity, and the companys mission to equip disciples to know and love God and His Word.This position combines rigorous theological scholarship with creative leadership. The Theologian in Residence will write, teach, and guide others to produce content that embodies the Sage brand identity: wisdom, clarity, and transformation.
Job Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Theology, Biblical Studies, or a closely related field required.
- 7+ years of experience in theological writing, teaching, or publishing, with a proven record of published works or curriculum development.
- Expertise in biblical theology, systematic theology, hermeneutics, and covenant theology.
- Strong grasp of church history, contemporary theology, and cultural engagement from a biblical perspective.
- Demonstrated ability to write and edit with theological depth, pastoral tone, and accessibility.
- Experience leading or contributing to complex publishing projects from concept to completion.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to teach, mentor, and represent TDGC publicly with grace and clarity.
- Familiarity with the Christian publishing industry and current trends in biblical, theological, and discipleship content.
- Proven ability to collaborate cross-departmentally with editorial, design, marketing, and leadership teams.

Job Responsibilities:
- Writing & Product Development (Primary Focus)
- Author and co-author Bible studies, theological works, and core resources that define TDGCs publishing vision.
- Develop original content ideas rooted in biblical theology, systematic theology, and applied discipleship.
- Collaborate with the Editorial Director and Executive Vice President to shape TDGCs long-term publishing strategy and ensure theological consistency across all product lines.
- Write with both academic precision and pastoral accessibility, connecting doctrine to devotion.
- Provide theological framing and structure for flagship projects, multi-author initiatives, and long-term content series.
- Partner with the Design Team to ensure visual expression aligns with theological tone and intent.
- Theological Oversight & Leadership
- Review and approve theological content across all major publications and studies.
- Collaborate with editors and writers to ensure doctrinal integrity, Christ-centered focus, and theological depth.
- Establish and maintain theological standards and internal guidelines for all TDGC resources.
- Offer theological consultation for marketing campaigns and public-facing materials to ensure alignment with TDGCs convictions.
- Strategic Vision & Influence
- Serve as a senior theological advisor to the Leadership Team, providing insight on product direction, cultural engagement, and theological positioning.
- Identify theological and cultural topics that TDGC should address in future publishing projects.
- Shape and communicate TDGCs theological identity through long-term strategy documents and vision statements.
- Contribute to strategic planning conversations to ensure that every major initiative reflects TDGCs doctrinal commitments and missional goals.
- Mentorship & Team Development
- Mentor writers, editors, and designers in biblical theology, hermeneutics, and theological communication.
- Lead workshops, internal seminars, and training sessions to deepen theological literacy across departments.
- Review outlines and proposals for theological accuracy, clarity, and gospel-centered application.
- Foster a culture of theological excellence and humility throughout the organization.
- Teaching, Speaking & Thought Leadership
- Represent The Daily Grace Co. through theological writing, podcasts, media appearances, and speaking engagements.
- Produce articles, essays, or devotionals that serve as thought leadership for TDGCs audience and partners.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Editorial to create content that strengthens TDGCs reputation as a trusted theological voice.
- Participate in conferences, roundtables, or panels as a representative of TDGCs theological vision.
- Research & Scholarship
- Conduct ongoing theological and biblical research to inform product development and internal training.
- Stay current on academic trends, church movements, and theological discussions relevant to Christian publishing.
- Build relationships with seminaries, theologians, and other Christian scholars for peer review and collaboration.
- Contribute to maintaining TDGCs theological library, resources, and internal reference systems.
