Contract duration: TBD

Hourly Rate: Competitive

Build the hardware. Help solve the prototype challenges.

EVONA is recruiting a hands-on electronics assembly professional to support an RF hardware engineering team. You’ll assemble prototype boards, perform precision soldering and incorporate changes as new products develop.

The hardware supports communication systems across aerospace, defense, unmanned platforms and space applications.

Your work will include

  • Hand-soldering small surface-mount components under a microscope, including 0402 components.
  • Assembling and reworking PCBs, electronic modules and associated mechanical parts.
  • Following engineering drawings and incorporating build changes.
  • Completing cable, harness, crimping and wire-termination work.
  • Checking solder joints, component placement, polarity and overall workmanship.
  • Working with engineers and test teams to resolve assembly issues.
  • Installing jumpers and making other circuit modifications where your experience allows.

What you’ll bring

  • Practical experience with microscope soldering and small SMT components.
  • Electronics assembly experience and confidence handling delicate circuit boards.
  • Ability to interpret assembly drawings and detailed instructions.
  • Familiarity with IPC-A-610 or comparable workmanship standards.
  • Careful, consistent work and clear communication.

Experience that stands out

  • Engineering prototypes and PCB rework.
  • Trace cutting, jumper installation or dead-bugging.
  • Cable/harness assembly and chassis wiring.
  • Around 3–5 years of relevant experience, although practical capability matters.
  • IPC certification is welcome but not essential.

Why consider it?

  • Varied prototype work with direct engineering interaction.
  • Hands-on involvement in new product development.
  • Hardware with applications across aerospace, defense and space.

Selection process

Candidates will complete a practical soldering demonstration.

Apply with a résumé highlighting your microscope soldering, component sizes and PCB rework experience.
