About the Role
The Company is in search of a Professor and Chair for its Department of Family Medicine and Community Health. The successful candidate will be a nationally recognized academic physician leader, responsible for providing strategic leadership in the department's clinical, educational, and research missions. This role also involves serving as the Family Medicine Clinical Service Unit Leader. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative and visionary academic leader with a proven track record in leading complex clinical and academic enterprises, building multidisciplinary partnerships, advancing research and innovation, and mentoring faculty and trainees. A strong background in family medicine, including an MD or DO degree, board certification in family medicine, and eligibility for medical licensure in Minnesota, is required. The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the company is one of the largest and most comprehensive in the nation, with a rich history of over 50 years. It is known for its excellence in education, research, and clinical care, and has a strong focus on healthy aging and interdisciplinary care. The Chair will be expected to continue the department's legacy of leadership and innovation, particularly in the areas of research and sponsored funding. The role is pivotal in advancing the department's mission and requires a leader who can effectively manage the department's various programs, including residency and fellowship training, and who is committed to the values of diversity and inclusion in the academic and clinical settings.
