Field Automation Specialist

Novaspect, Inc., an Emerson Impact Partner, the global leader of automation systems and solutions, is currently offering an opportunity for an Instrumentation & Control Technician to join our team.Field Automation Specialist Essential Duties and Responsibilities include participating with our customers in:Automation process control instrumentation and equipment startupVerifying, troubleshooting and resolving instrumentation and equipment communicationsInspecting instrument wiring, power and grounding of installation using a process meterSetting up instruments with Hart 475 or TREX field communicatorAble to read P&ID’s for process control configurationsWork with onsite installation crewReplacing/installing instrumentation, RTU, PLC and equipmentTroubleshooting program logic, process control and equipmentDeveloping a solution to resolve process control from device to SCADAInstalling and calibrating flow measurement equipment (Coriolis, mag meter, mass flow meters, and ultrasonic meters)Providing management of onsite control project installation and startup activities including construction supervision and supplier coordinationProviding process control, programming and equipment phone supportEffective and prompt response to customer requests or inquiriesAble to demonstrate crucial communication skills with customersProviding clear and effective documentation of services provided to customersMeeting project team commitments and deadlinesTraveling to customer facilitiesField Automation Specialist Education and/or Experience:Technical degree in electrical or instrumentation discipline or equivalent experience in industrial automation and instrumentation requiredProficient of communication protocols Modbus, DNP3 for both TCP/IP and serialProficient with all types of I/O, Analog, Digital, Pulse, and HartFamiliarity with programming and configuration on Beijer, Rosemont, Micro Motion, ROC, Floboss, Redlion and Allen Bradly PLC’sFamiliarity with ABB, Rosemont, Micro Motion, ROC, Floboss, Allen Bradly PLCFamiliar with I/O checkout, configuration and commissioning processTraining/Certification in 3 or more areas of automationField Automation Specialist Additional Requirements:Experience managing customer projects and working independentlyCurrent driver’s licenseProficient with MS Office suiteParticipate in on-call rotation with existing technical staffField Automation Specialist Physical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50lbsAbility of hands to grasp and manipulate small objects/toolsAbility to work with hand toolsAbility to work at heightsAbility to stoop, crawl and crouch while working on equipment on hands and kneesAbility to work on your feet for 8 hours per dayAbility to work in a loud industrial environmentComfortable working around industrial equipment with exposed moving partsAbility to climb stairs (up to 20 flights per dayAbility to climb a 20 ft. ladderAbility to work with up to 480 voltsAbility to drive on average 3-4 hours in a dayAbility to drive 8 hours as needed in a day – although not typicalAbility to work in high and cold temperature environments for extended hoursField Automation Specialist Pay:Hourly Rate: $40 - $50Overtime EligibleCompany vehicle, cell phone and tools providedThe final offer will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to the candidate's depth of experience, skill set, qualifications, and internal pay equity.
