Sr. Research Associate, Virology

Role Overview The Infectious Disease Department is seeking a self‑motivated, adaptable individual with strong experience working with murine models and in vivo related techniques to support development of novel vaccines and therapeutics. The position contributes across all IDR programs through in‑vivo experiments at biosafety level 1 and 2. Responsibilities Carry out technical procedural work including dosing (intravenous, intraperitoneal, intramuscular) and collection procedures (blood, tissues) with laboratory animal species, with expertise in mice. Understand and operate rodent anesthesia systems and other specialized equipment such as common imaging modalities. Process samples according to specific criteria, store and ship appropriately. Assist with ensuring facility and animal housing rooms are adequately equipped and supplied. Assist with all aspects of experimental planning and logistics. Work closely with research leads and the team manager to ensure quality and compliance of all in‑vivo experiments. Maintain full compliance with regulatory requirements, protocols, SOPs, and other working documents. Interpret, summarize, and report on experimental data as necessary. Additional duties as may be assigned from time to time. Basic Qualifications Minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience working with laboratory animal species. Extensive experience carrying out technical procedural work involving murine models. Work independently and manage multiple studies from preparation through execution and data recording. Demonstrate adaptability in dynamic environments with shifting priorities and timelines. Knowledge and hands‑on experience working within the regulatory frameworks for compliant in‑vivo experiments. Attention to detail, ability to think ahead, and strong communication skills. Excellent record keeping and data management experience with ELNs. Familiarity with ABSL‑2 working practices and procedures is preferred. Candidate is curious, bold in proposing creative experimental designs, and works collaboratively with multifunctional teams. Candidate already holds United States work authorization and can maintain that status without future sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of experience working with murine models in a laboratory environment. Demonstrated excellence in intramuscular, intravenous, intraperitoneal dosing routes, necropsy, and blood collection. ALAT or LAT certifications. The position may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, other incentive compensation, or equity award, subject to company plan eligibility criteria and individual performance.
