Job Overview CDM Smith is looking for an entry‑level Environmental, Water Resources, or Civil Engineer to join our Water Services Group. This position presents an excellent opportunity for recent graduates to apply their engineering skills to innovative and sustainable water projects and to grow within a dynamic team. Responsibilities Support the design and implementation of water and wastewater treatment facilities, sewer systems, pipelines, and associated infrastructure. Operate under direct supervision while ensuring designs meet client specifications and comply with federal, state, and local regulatory standards. Conduct site assessments, adjust design parameters as needed, conduct water quality analyses and modeling, prepare technical reports and documentation, and collaborate on presentations for client meetings and industry conferences. Assist in creating documents and presentations using ArcGIS, HEC‑RAS, SWMM, CADD, Excel, and other software. Participate in fieldwork supporting construction management activities, providing a comprehensive project lifecycle experience. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering or related discipline. 1 year of experience or equivalent direct experience. Preferred Qualifications Ideal candidate has 1+ years of industry experience or a relevant MS degree. Skills & Abilities Basic knowledge of computer aided design & drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices. Basic knowledge of engineering principles of design. Knowledge of Microsoft business software (Excel, Word, etc.). Good verbal and written communication ability. Travel Domestic and/or international travel may be required; frequency of travel contingent on specific duties. Work Location Virginia – Fairfax.
