Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with 2+ years of experience and required neuro experience for a fast-paced IR unit performing complex vascular and neurological procedures.

Details

• , an average daing census of 450 patients, 20 visits per day across 3 procedure rooms
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, Monday through Friday from 08:30 to 17:00
• 40 hours per week may be offered
• On-call requirement of one day per week on a rotating schedule (Tuesday, Thursday, Monday, Wednesday, Weekend)
• Weekend requirement of one weekend every 6-7 weeks
• No floating requirement
• Utilizes EPIC for charting and Pyxis for medication dispensing
• Special equipment includes GE Innova Single Plane and Siemens Artis Biplane (x2) fluoroscopy systems

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience required
• Neuro experience required
• Previous stroke certified hospital experience preferred
• Current ARRT and BLS certification required; ARRT CI and ARRT VI certifications preferred
• License required if applicable
• Prior travel healthcare experience required; unit will not accept first-time travelers
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• EPIC charting experience required
• Proficiency required in abdominal, pelvic, genitourinary, neurological, and vascular interventional procedures including angioplasty, embolization, chemoembolization, IVC filter placement/removal, carotid angiography/stenting, thrombolysis/thrombectomy, TIPS, and vertebroplasty
• Skilled in central venous access (non-tunneled/PICC lines), fluoroscopy equipment operation, and sterile technique
• Experience with 3D imaging, isolation precautions/PPE, and rapid response/code team protocols
• Lead tech experience required

Additional Information

• Perform a wide range of interventional radiology procedures including stroke intervention, intracranial embolization, kyphoplasty, carotid and vertebral stenting, nephrostomy, biliary placement, chemoembolization, TheraSphere mapping and infusion, mesenteric angiogram, UAE, GAE, PAE, chest port and perm cath placement
• Responsibilities include equipment setup, prepping access sites, room circulating, and scrubbing to maintain a sterile field
• Maintains equipment, stocks supplies, and utilizes PACS system
• 40-hour unit orientation provided
• Scrubs are light blue and not provided by the facility
• Local candidates accepted at a lower rate within 50 miles of the facility
• Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved as long as it does not fall on a holiday; no RTO allowed during the first week of assignment
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Travel pairs are allowed if on different units and disclosed at submission
• Former Novant/New Hanover employees must wait 12 months before reapplying and disclose prior employment details
• Current travel per diem clinicians must choose between travel or per diem status, not both
