Construction Estimator

Overview

We're looking for an experienced Construction Estimator to join our growing commercial construction team. In this role, you'll be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a wide range of projects, including retail, fuel centers, theaters, and other commercial facilities. You'll play a key part in the preconstruction process-analyzing plans, collaborating with subcontractors, and developing budgets that set projects up for success from day one.
Key Responsibilities

• Review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and project requirements to develop detailed cost estimates.
• Prepare material, equipment, and labor takeoffs with precision and consistency.
• Collaborate with internal project teams, vendors, and subcontractors to obtain pricing and ensure competitive bids.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities, constructability issues, and value engineering options.
• Develop clear, comprehensive bid proposals and present cost summaries with supporting documentation.
• Track historical costs, update pricing databases, and refine estimating methods to improve accuracy.
• Analyze differences between estimated and actual project costs to support continuous improvement.
• Work closely with project management during turnover to ensure a smooth transition from estimating to execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum of 3years of estimating experience in commercial or general construction.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and building systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, estimating or preconstruction software, and digital takeoff tools.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment.
• Experience with retail, fueling stations, or big-box construction is a plus.
