Phlebotomist II Site Lead – Washington, DC Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with rotational weekends. Pay range: $18.39 – $27.58 / hour. Overview The PSR II Site Lead represents the face of Quest Diagnostics to patients, drawing high‑quality blood samples and preparing specimens for lab testing. The role directs daily activity at a Patient Service Center or In‑Office Phlebotomy location and may lead one or more PSRs on site. Responsibilities Collect specimens according to established procedures including drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams. Administer oral solutions as trained. Confirm and verify all written and electronic orders using lab technology systems or the directory of services. Accurately complete all data entry requirements: patient registration, test orders, standing orders. Enter billing information and collect payments; safeguard assets and credit card information. Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, splitting, freezing as required. Perform clerical duties such as inventory, phone answering, and supply management. Adhere to departmental policies, protocols, and procedures and ensure staff compliance. Verify patient demographic information and obtain signatures post‑venipuncture. Help compile and submit monthly statistics and data. Maintain phlebotomy logs and temperature logs in a timely manner. Complete and keep up‑to‑date training courses. Attend Territory Manager meetings and special projects as required. Assist with inventory counts and report shortages or problems. Help prepare schedules for the assigned workgroup or PSC. Communicate professionally with clients, document issues, and report critical problems. Enforce safety precautions (lab coat, gloves, face shield). Assist supervisors with SOP implementation for phlebotomy services. Maintain facilities in good repair; report needed maintenance. Serve as a coach, mentor, instructor, and resource advisor for new employees. Qualifications Required Work Experience: Three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections. Keyboard/data entry experience. Flexible availability for staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on‑call, and overtime. Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, if applicable. Travel and flexible hours to cover multiple locations with minimal notice. Preferred Work Experience: Minimum 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment. Customer service experience in a retail or service environment. Physical and Mental Requirements: Lift light to moderately heavy objects (1–15 lb frequently; 16–25 lb occasionally; 26–40 lb seldom; >41 lb only with assistance). Stand or sit for long periods; perform tasks with eye and hand coordination. Perform repetitive tasks with dominant hand. Travel required. Extensive use of phone and PC. Fine dexterity, talking, walking, balancing, bending/kneeling, pushing/pulling, reaching/twisting. Knowledge: Commitment to all Quest Diagnostics policies and procedures. Effective communication in English. Skills: Quality, error‑free work in a fast‑paced environment. Independent work with minimal supervision. Excellent phlebotomy skills (pediatric & geriatric). Superior customer focus and ability to communicate transparently. Decision making based on established procedures and good judgment. Handling multiple priorities in a high‑volume setting. Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required). Languages: English (Required). Licenses and Certifications: Phlebotomy certification (required in certain states; preferred).
