Radiation Therapist is responsible for delivering high-quality radiation therapy treatments while supporting radiation oncology care plans and ensuring patient safety and comfort. This position is an integral part of the radiation oncology treatment team, working closely with physicians and other clinical staff to ensure accurate treatment delivery according to prescribed plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer accurate radiation therapy treatments per physician prescriptions
• Assist in patient setup, positioning, and immobilization
• Ensure safety compliance with all ARRT and State of Texas (CMRT) guidelines
• Monitor patient responses and provide emotional support throughout treatment
• Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, physicists, and dosimetrists
• Maintain daily treatment logs and electronic records
• Perform daily quality assurance checks on radiation equipment
• Adhere to strict infection control and radiation safety standards
• Maintain and update required certifications and continuing education

Minimum Qualifications

• Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist (CMRT) State of Texas license required
• ARRT-THR (Radiation Therapy) Required
• Graduate from an accredited Radiation Therapy program
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach
• Ability to follow detailed technical procedures accurately
• New graduates are encouraged to apply

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior clinical experience in a hospital or cancer center
• Experience with advanced radiation equipment and software
• Familiarity with electronic medical record systems and treatment planning tools
