Position Overview Research Analyst 3 – Data Modernization & Innovation Office. The position may be located in Juneau, Fairbanks, or Anchorage. Salary: Juneau: $2,862.00 / Biweekly; Fairbanks: $2,807.25 / Biweekly; Anchorage: $2,725.50 / Biweekly. Responsibilities As a Research Analyst 3, you will modernize Alaska’s transportation system through innovative research, develop and assess projects, and administer contracts for state‑wide initiatives. Your work will support the development of a flexible, resilient transportation system. Core Competencies & Qualifications Project Management: Knowledge of principles, methods, and tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, and managing projects and resources, including monitoring and inspecting costs, work, and contractor performance. Information Management: Ability to identify information needs, gather and organize information, and maintain information or information systems. Self‑Management: Sets realistic personal goals, demonstrates initiative and effort, works with minimal supervision, and exhibits responsible behavior. Analysis and Assessment: Uses information technology to access, collect, analyze, maintain, and disseminate data and information. Problem Solving: Identifies problems, determines accuracy and relevance of information, uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and makes recommendations. Technical Competence: Applies knowledge obtained through formal training or extensive on‑the‑job experience to perform tasks, understand and evaluate technical information, and advise others. Accountability: Holds self and others accountable for measurable, high‑quality, timely, and cost‑effective results, sets priorities, delegates work, and accepts responsibility for actions and decisions.
