Facilities Manager

Detroit, MI 48242 About the Role JLL is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager with advanced expertise in hard services, critical systems management, and client relationship development. This position is ideal for facilities professionals looking to elevate their career by taking on strategic portfolio management responsibilities while maintaining hands‑on oversight of critical building systems. Key Responsibilities As our Facilities Manager, you will support over 2 million square feet of industrial spaces and serve as a key client liaison. You will report to the Senior Facilities Manager and collaborate closely with Senior and Site Directors to drive operational excellence, strategic planning, and client satisfaction across the portfolio. Work Schedule Second shift (1:30 PM – 10 PM). Weekends required. Client Relations and Strategic Support Build strong relationships and trust with key stakeholders. Translate complex technical issues into clear, actionable recommendations for client decision‑making. Respond proactively to client needs and concerns and represent JLL professionally in all client interactions. Operational Excellence and Compliance Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual operational reports for senior management and clients, and maintain comprehensive documentation of all systems, maintenance activities, and operational procedures. Support emergency preparedness planning and business continuity initiatives. Team Leadership and Development Provide guidance and direction to engineering and maintenance staff across assigned properties. Support training and professional development initiatives for facilities teams, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams such as property management, leasing, and project management. Qualifications Competent and Goal‑Driven Eight or more years of relevant property‑management experience. Experience managing commercial contracts and budgets is preferred. A goal‑oriented mindset, passion for building successful teams, and strong vendor‑management practices are essential. Organized and Analytical Self‑motivated, quick‑thinking, and able to solve problems creatively. Well‑organized leaders who anticipate future requirements, plan in advance, and stay ahead of deadlines.
