About Technical Operations BioMarin’s Technical Operations group is responsible for creating our drugs for use in clinical trials and for scaling production of those drugs for the commercial market. Engineers, technicians, scientists and support staff build and maintain BioMarin’s cutting‑edge manufacturing processes and sites, provide quality assurance and quality control to meet regulatory standards, procure the needed goods and services, and coordinate the worldwide movement of our drugs to patients. Job Overview Manufacturing Shift Lead – Backhalf Graves. Responsible for daily operations of the manufacturing area, leading a team, ensuring compliance, and collaborating with cross‑functional groups to maintain production schedules and quality. Responsibilities Leadership: Accountable for daily area operations, effective communication, troubleshooting, and minimal oversight of schedules. Direct coordination of tasks, hands‑on staff training, and supervisory support. Exemplify department values, set standards, foster compliance, strong work ethic, and continuous learning. Project ownership: take responsibility for moderate level projects and interact with peer leads for alignment. Partner with support groups (Facilities, Validation, Quality) to complete scheduled activities. Process knowledge: strong knowledge of process theory, equipment and compliance; troubleshoot, identify issues and support resolutions. Perform operational tasks, use scientific thinking, and support documentation review and approval (Batch Records, logbooks). Support closure of Manufacturing owned Quality Records (deviations, change requests). Other duties as assigned. Required Experience 2-4 years of manufacturing experience, 0-2 years leading a team. Familiarity with manufacturing software, Chrome skids, TFF skids, delegating work, team leadership, and adherence to production schedules. Desired Experience 2-4 years of manufacturing experience, 0-2 years leading a team. Experience with Oracle, MES, Microsoft Teams, and effective communication across groups. Education BA/BS preferred but not required; 1-2 years of leading manufacturing experience. Equipment Chrome skids, TFF skids, buffer tanks, lab washers, autoclaves. Contacts Will interact with manufacturing, automation, facilities, instrumentation, QA, QC. Shift Details Backhalf Graves shift: Wed/Thurs–Sat, 6 pm–7 am. Onsite only. Travel required: None.
