Position Principal at Pathfinder Regional Vocational Technical High School, Palmer, Massachusetts Job Details Job ID: 5697176 Application Deadline: Posted until filled Re-Posted: May 18, 2026 12:00 AM (UTC) Starting Date: Immediately Position Type: Full-time, 12-month Effective Date: July 1, 2026 (anticipated) Salary: Estimated range $130,000 to $155,000 Reports To: Superintendent Overview Pathfinder Regional Vocational Technical High School is a four‑year regional vocational technical high school serving approximately 650 students. The district is in a period of continued growth and is opening a new extended campus in Belchertown, Massachusetts scheduled to open in September 2026 for about 100 students. This anticipated opening seeks a highly qualified candidate with a strong record in educational leadership to serve as Principal. Responsibilities Promote the learning and growth of all students and the success of all staff by cultivating a shared vision that places powerful teaching and learning at the core of schooling. Ensure a safe, efficient, and effective learning environment through appropriate curriculum, staffing, and scheduling. Develop and sustain a school culture of reflective practice, high expectations, and continuous learning for staff. Promote effective partnerships with families, community organizations, and other stakeholders. Maintain high standards of student conduct and discipline. Oversee hiring of new staff and arrangement of substitute teachers. Administer the school’s professional development program. Coordinate custodial and other support services. Assist in preparation of the annual budget and maintain a record of employees and CORI information. Maintain an active relationship with students and parents and serve as liaison to parental and community groups. Prepare periodic reports required by state and federal government and/or Superintendent. Maintain and improve high academic and vocational student performance. Collaborate with the Superintendent on district policies, goal setting, and planning. Handle unforeseen challenges in a responsive school environment. Other duties as appropriate or assigned by the Superintendent. Qualifications Appropriately licensed by the MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Minimum of five years full‑time experience in education. At least three years of experience as a school or district administrator preferred. Demonstrated school leadership, supervision, and success in leading strategic initiatives that resulted in measurable student outcomes. Data‑driven decision‑making experience. Strong critical thinking, decision‑making, and dispute resolution skills. Effective communication skills with diverse audiences. Knowledge of Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and NEASC Standards. Understanding of Massachusetts School Law for secondary and vocational education. Familiarity with school finance, budget formulation, and CORI compliance. Exemplary character, ethics, and professionalism. Proven record of leading and improving high academic and vocational performance. Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with staff, students, and community. Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
