Patient Services Representative

Location: Edmond, Oklahoma (Onsite)
Reports to: Front Office Supervisor

We're partnering with a well-respected healthcare practice in Edmond, Oklahoma, to hire a Patient Services Representative who will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment and takes pride in keeping the front office running smoothly.

Schedule:
  • Monday-Thursday: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

What You'll Do

As a Patient Services Representative, you'll help ensure every patient interaction-from phone calls to check-in-feels smooth, professional, and welcoming.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Greet patients and visitors promptly and professionally
  • Register new patients and update returning patient records in the EMR
  • Verify insurance information and obtain required consent forms
  • Collect co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance, and outstanding balances
  • Answer, screen, and route incoming calls and voicemails efficiently
  • Schedule provider, lab, and imaging appointments accurately
  • Prepare and send new patient packets and follow-up communications for no-shows
  • Balance the daily cash drawer according to practice guidelines
  • Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
  • Assist clinical and administrative staff with additional front-office tasks as needed
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of customer service experience (medical office experience preferred)
  • Strong computer skills; EMR or practice management experience is a plus
  • Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking abilities
  • Experience with multi-line phone systems
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Fast-paced medical office with frequent patient interaction
  • Regular sitting, standing, walking, and bending; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Extended use of computers and phone systems
