Editorial Strategist

Cotton & Company

Job Description

Job Description

Editorial & Authority Strategist

Help Build the Next Generation of Public Relations

Stuart, Florida | Full-Time

Most public relations jobs ask you to support an established process. This one asks you to help reinvent it. For more than 40 years, Cotton & Company has helped organizations build brands, launch communities and tell stories that influence markets. Today, we're creating a new approach to public relations and authority-building—one that combines exceptional editorial judgment, strategic distribution, emerging technology and authentic human relationships.

We're looking for someone who wants to be part of the team shaping what comes next. This isn't a role where you'll be handed a list of media contacts and told to start pitching. You'll work alongside strategists, writers, marketers, developers and company leadership to help create a modern communications model designed for how information is discovered, evaluated and trusted today.

Experience matters, but CURIOSITY matters more.

We're looking for someone with natural curiosity, exceptional intelligence, strong writing instincts, outstanding organizational skills and the ambition to grow into a leadership role as this initiative expands.

What You'll Do

As part of our editorial and communications team, you'll help transform ideas into credible, influential content that reaches the right audiences through the right channels. Working alongside experienced professionals across multiple disciplines, you'll help:

• Review and refine editorial content before publication, ensuring every piece meets our standards for quality, clarity and credibility.

• Recommend the most effective distribution strategy for each article, announcement and thought leadership piece.

• Cultivate relationships with digital editors, journalists, publishers, podcast hosts, industry organizations and other influential voices.

• Coordinate media outreach, article placements, editorial calendars and publication schedules.

• Work with the in-house media team on new opportunities for earned media, strategic partnerships and industry visibility.

• Collaborate with writers, designers, digital strategists, developers and leadership to continuously improve how our clients build authority.

• Support public relations and thought leadership initiatives for Cotton & Company while helping develop a revolutionary new communications model for the future.

Who You Are

You're naturally curious. You enjoy writing, editing and making ideas better.

You like connecting people, discovering opportunities and building relationships.

You're organized enough to manage multiple projects without losing sight of the details.

Technology excites you, but you also understand that relationships, credibility and great storytelling remain at the center of effective communications. Most importantly, you're energized by the opportunity to help build something new instead of simply maintaining what's already been created.

Why This Role Is Different

You'll work directly with experienced leaders who are actively rethinking the future of marketing.

You'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of strategists, writers, designers, marketers and technologists who believe the communications industry is entering a period of profound transformation.

You'll have a voice. You'll be encouraged to experiment.

You'll help establish new editorial standards, new distribution strategies and new ways organizations earn trust in an increasingly intelligent world.

Few early-career opportunities offer the chance to help shape an entirely new approach to an industry while learning from professionals across multiple disciplines. If you're looking for a place where your career can grow as quickly as your curiosity, we'd love to meet you.
