Physical Education Teacher

About the job Physical Education Teacher Conservatory Lab seeks a motivated and enthusiastic, team player to lead students in wellness activities. The ideal candidate will build excitement for school based programs and school initiatives. The sports and cooperative plan specialist is interested in building a unique program that not only teaches students about sports but creates opportunities for teamwork that demonstrate the CLCS CREW qualities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Organize and lead daily physical activity for students, grades Pre-K-8 Plan lessons and activities that promote familiarity with various sports and basic skills to participate in organized games Lead cooperative play to promote team building Provide consistent motivation, enthusiasm, and role modeling for healthy lifestyle choices Document student activities, participation, and services provided Lead wellness initiatives to promote physical activity and nutrition Support academic instruction by working collaboratively within the classroom with content teachers Lead advisory with group of middle school students to promote social development, goal setting and reflection Supervise students during arrival, dismissal, transitions, lunch and recess Assist with special projects and events Perform other duties as assigned Requirements Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years experience implementing physical activities and coaching in school-based, after-school, and/or community-based settings Comfortable working in various urban settings and with diverse populations Team-oriented with strong organizational and collaborative skills Adapts well to changes in assignment and priorities with the ability to respond effectively to new information, changing conditions, and unexpected obstacles Excellent communication skills, both oral and written Willingness to model standards of nutrition and activity and personally demonstrating the caliber of performance and behavior that is expected of the staff and students #J-18808-Ljbffr Conservatory Lab Charter School
