Paraprofessional Position

Job Goal: To assist with a teacher, group of teachers, or throughout the building to provide a well-organized, smoothly functioning environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials.

Requirements: A minimum of thirty-sixty college hours from an accredited college or university is required, pass the Paraprofessional test in the State of Missouri or Missouri 20-hour Online Substitute Training Program, sixty college hours is preferred. Twenty-one (21) years of age. Be able to read and write. Have the ability to understand, and effectively carry out oral and written instructions. Demonstrate an interest in youth and their educational welfare. Ability and desire to assist the teacher in providing an educational opportunity for the handicapped child to attain his/her maximum potential. Experience in working with children in a group setting. Ability to work well with learning community, parents teachers, students, administrators and staff with courtesy, tact, and good judgment along with having good customer service skills. Be of good character, neat in personal appearance, dependable, reliable, prompt, and flexible and have pleasing manners and personality. Ability to cooperate with teachers and willingness to take directions from teaching staff. Ability to stay uninvolved unless directed by the teacher, even if a situation is perceived differently than the teacher sees it.

Annual Salary Range for the 2025-2026 School Year: $22,695 - $37,809 (dependent upon experience and qualifications)
