Job Description
This role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems in a manufacturing and production environment. You will perform daily preventive maintenance, respond to equipment issues, and ensure safe and reliable operation of production machinery and facility equipment. The position requires strong hands-on skills with hydraulics and pneumatics, basic computer proficiency for maintenance records, and prior experience in manufacturing or production settings.
Responsibilities

• Perform daily preventive maintenance on a variety of mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems, including compressors, die cutters, pumps, and custom manufacturing equipment.
• Work on three-phase high voltage electrical systems as well as low-voltage control systems to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on production and facility equipment.
• Complete necessary repairs on machinery and equipment to minimize downtime and maintain efficient production.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date computerized maintenance and facility records, including data entry of work performed and parts used.
• Follow all OSHA safety standards and company safety procedures while performing maintenance tasks.
• Work in elevated areas of the plant, including using ladders and accessing elevated platforms, as needed for equipment maintenance.
• Enter and work safely in confined spaces when required for inspections, repairs, or maintenance activities.
• Respond to plant emergencies during off hours and weekends, as needed, to support continuous operations.
• Work independently with minimal supervision, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively to complete assigned work.
• Assist with installation, setup, and adjustment of mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems and equipment.
• Support both production machinery maintenance and general building maintenance tasks as needed, including basic plumbing work when applicable.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation to guide troubleshooting and repair activities.
• Collaborate with production and other plant personnel to identify equipment issues and implement effective solutions.

Essential Skills

• Hands-on mechanical repair and electrical troubleshooting experience on hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Basic computer knowledge and the ability to perform data entry to maintain maintenance and facility records.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing and/or production environment.
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance on mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems, including compressors, die cutters, pumps, and custom manufacturing equipment.
• Experience working with three-phase high voltage electrical systems and control voltage electrical systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Minimum of a high school diploma.
• At least 2 years of experience as a maintenance or facilities technician.
• Experience with installation, repair, and maintenance of mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems and equipment.
• Comfort working at heights and ability to climb ladders and access elevated work areas.
• Ability to work overtime and respond to plant emergencies during off hours.
• Ability to work safely in confined spaces.
• Capability to work with minimal supervision and manage tasks independently.
• Ability to lift up to 55 pounds safely.
• Familiarity with PLC controls and software (knowledge is considered a plus).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• More than 2\u20133 years of experience performing maintenance on production machines and building systems.
• Experience with both production equipment maintenance and general building maintenance.
• Basic plumbing skills.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing manufacturing and production equipment.
• Exposure to PLC-controlled systems and willingness to further develop PLC knowledge.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate maintenance records.
• Ability to communicate effectively with production and plant personnel regarding equipment status and maintenance needs.

Work Environment
This position is based in a manufacturing and production plant that operates multiple shifts, including a 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. shift and a 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. shift. You will work around production machinery such as compressors, die cutters, pumps, and custom manufacturing equipment, as well as three-phase high voltage and control voltage electrical systems. The role involves working in elevated areas and confined spaces, and requires comfort with heights and ladder use. You may be called in for overtime and off-hour emergency responses to support plant operations. The dress code includes jeans, a short- or long-sleeve shirt appropriate for the weather, and steel-toed boots for safety. The environment emphasizes adherence to OSHA standards and safe work practices while performing maintenance tasks.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kingston, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.63 - $35.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
