Job Title: Lead Teardown Technician

Job Description

The Lead Teardown Technician oversees daily teardown operations for equipment repairs and refurbishment in a lift equipment environment. This working lead role combines hands-on mechanical teardown with leadership responsibilities, including scheduling, workflow coordination, quality oversight, and team support. The position plays a key role in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality teardown of heavy mechanical equipment while supporting continuous improvement in production processes.

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 5+ years of experience with heavy mechanical assembly and overhaul or rebuild of mechanical equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and work with complex mechanical systems.
• Experience with mechanical assembly, teardown, and equipment repair.
• Experience with mechanical troubleshooting and mechanic repair activities.
• Demonstrated supervisory skills, including directing work and supporting team members.
• Ability to work with production schedules and adjust workflows to meet deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with internal teams and customers.
• Computer skills sufficient to review schedules, document work, and communicate within the organization.

Work Environment

Work takes place in an open-air shop environment focused on teardown, repair, and refurbishment of lift and heavy mechanical equipment. The regular schedule is Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Candidates must be available to work overtime as business needs arise, including extended hours Monday through Friday until 4:30 p.m. and occasional mandatory Saturdays and/or Sundays, typically from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., depending on production demands. The role involves frequent use of hand tools, power tools, and air tools, and requires comfort working around heavy equipment in a production shop setting

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.

The pay range for this position is $24.50 - $30.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Houston,TX.
