License: Current state nursing license required. Pending license accepted but must be licensed upon start date. Certifications: No specific certifications listed. Must-Have: Comfortable with nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:35-45. Must be flexible and able to work in Pacific Standard Time. Must commit to a minimum of 4 weekend shifts within a 6-week period. Experience with Medicare regulations and specific utilization management processes is essential. Description: The position is for a registered nurse specializing in utilization review. The nurse will be responsible for performing utilization review within an acute care hospital setting. The role encompasses concurrent review and continued stay reviews. The nurse will utilize InterQual criteria for decision-making. Knowledge and experience with CMS regulations and HEDIS measures are important. The ability to assess medical necessity and manage appeals and denials is required. The nurse will work collaboratively with a team to support patient care and ensure compliance with standards. Candidates must adhere to applicable labor laws regarding breaks and lunchtime. Strict adherence to policies regarding overtime and off-the-clock work is mandatory. References are required covering at least one year of experience within the last three years. All employees are expected to maintain flexible schedules to support multiple facilities.
