Infrastructure and Identity Lead

Job Summary:

The Senior Infrastructure and Identity Lead is responsible for providing expert technical leadership in managing and supporting Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware, Linux, and identity integration environments. This role involves overseeing infrastructure deployments, migrations, and resolving complex incidents while ensuring system reliability and security. Responsibilities:

• Lead administration of Windows Server and Active Directory environments.
• Assess and manage AD forests, domains, trusts, sites, replication, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
• Diagnose and resolve authentication, authorization, directory, policy, and name-resolution issues.
• Design and implement approved Active Directory updates, deployments, and migrations.
• Develop coexistence, pilot, migration-wave, rollback, and validation procedures.
• Administer VMware ESXi, vCenter, clusters, hosts, datastores, and virtual machines.
• Review virtualization capacity, alarms, snapshots, network configuration, and lifecycle risks.
• Support Linux infrastructure and perform service troubleshooting.
• Coordinate dependencies with OES/NDS, networking, wireless, endpoints, and printing teams.
• Create technical implementation plans and post-change validation reports.
• Maintain architecture diagrams, configuration standards, and runbooks.
• Serve as Level 3 escalation point for complex infrastructure incidents.
• Mentor field and service operations personnel.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Extensive Windows Server administration and troubleshooting expertise.
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory Domain Services, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, Kerberos, LDAP, certificates, and identity federation.
• Proficiency with VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, clusters, virtual switching, and storage integration.
• Linux system administration skills.
• Experience with PowerShell and controlled automation.
• Capability in infrastructure migration and coexistence planning.
• Skills in performance, capacity, and root-cause analysis.
• Backup and recovery dependency coordination experience.
• Minimum of seven years in infrastructure engineering.
• At least five years supporting Active Directory and Windows Server.
• At least three years supporting enterprise VMware environments.
• Proven experience planning and executing controlled migrations.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Microsoft role-based Windows Server or identity certifications.
• VMware Certified Professional (VCP).
• Red Hat, Linux Foundation, or equivalent Linux certifications.
• ITIL Foundation certification.

Special Considerations:

• Role may require handling complex incident escalations and mentoring teams.
• Must coordinate across multiple infrastructure and service teams.
• Adherence to controlled change management and validation processes is critical.

Scheduling:

• Standard full-time schedule with potential on-call duties for incident escalation.
• Flexibility may be required to support migrations and deployments outside regular hours.
