Affinity Health Walk In Clinic is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is experienced in evaluating and treating patients with acute illnesses and injuries and thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment. This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with physicians and healthcare staff to provide high-quality, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute illnesses, injuries, and urgent medical conditions.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including obtaining medical histories and conducting physical examinations.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory studies and imaging when appropriate.
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
• Prescribe medications and provide medication management in accordance with state regulations and clinic protocols.
• Perform common urgent care procedures such as wound care, suturing, incision and drainage, splinting, foreign body removal, and other procedures within scope of practice.
• Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, preventive care, and follow-up recommendations.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and complete patient documentation using electronic health record systems, including EPIC.
• Ensure compliance with all clinical protocols, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support a positive patient experience.

Basic Skills Required

• Experience performing urgent care procedures and managing acute medical conditions. • Proficiency with electronic health records, preferably EPIC. • Current BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred. • Strong diagnostic, clinical decision-making, and procedural skills. • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a high-volume urgent care environment.

Specific Skills Required

• Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice. • National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP), or equivalent. • Current DEA registration and prescriptive authority. • Minimum of 1–2 years of clinical experience in Urgent Care, Emergency Medicine, Family Practice, Internal Medicine, or a related setting preferred.
