The Sauk Rapids-Rice Public School District No. 47 is seeking an experienced and innovative individual to provide excellent leadership as an Assistant Principal at Pleasantview Elementary School. Located in Sauk Rapids, MN, minutes from downtown St. Cloud and approximately an hour northwest of the Twin Cities, Pleasantview Elementary serves 700+ students with approximately 100+ staff members. Sauk Rapids-Rice Public Schools Is Committed To A culture of high quality and effective instruction Partnerships and collaboration Student and staff well-being High student achievement Stewardship of resources Equitable education Primary Responsibilities Serve as a partner with the principal in carrying out the district's vision, mission and goals Assist the principal in the overall administration of the school; interpret and enforce school policies and procedures Actively participate in recruitment, selection, staff development and evaluation of staff members Work as an advocate for all students Supervise, monitor and support students with behavior and academic programming Facilitate staff, student, and parent/guardian meetings Support teachers in effective lesson plans and classroom preparation Create a positive school climate to establish a thriving learning culture Provide leadership in developing staff competencies to meet the diverse needs of students Partner with the principal in management of day-to-day operations of the school, including creating a master schedule, addressing security/safety, planning and managing summer school and other student programs Outstanding Candidates Will Be Effective communicators with a focus on approachability and availability for students and staff Thoughtful and deliberate decision-makers Collaborative and building positive relationships, valuing input, and working together to achieve shared goals Creative problem solvers with extraordinary relationship skills Innovative and able to promote and implement quality programs Motivating and positive with students, staff, and parents/guardians Able to lead and support high-quality instruction by coaching staff, promoting growth, and maintaining a clear focus on student learning Able to provide leadership within the school, district and community A life‑long learner and positive role model Willing and able to work irregular hours Able to build trust through clear, timely, and respectful communication while listening and working effectively with others A team player who supports others, shares responsibility, and puts collective success first Required Qualifications Hold a current Minnesota teaching license Hold a current Minnesota Principal License or be currently enrolled in a Principal licensure program at an accredited university or college Preferred Qualifications Experience as an elementary teacher and/or administrator Hold a current Minnesota Teaching License with elementary education or K‑5 specialization Hold a Minnesota Teaching License with a Professional Administrative K‑12 Principal endorsement Contract Full‑time, 215 day contract starting July 1, 2026. Salary and Benefits Salary based on the 2024‑2026 Sauk Rapids‑Rice Principals' Association Agreement starting at $104,218 up to $118,672. Benefits based on full‑time employment and may be pro‑rated for part‑time positions.
