Overview

An innovative medical device company focused on interventional ophthalmic technologies is seeking a Surgical Sales Representative to drive sales growth and physician adoption across the Los Angeles market. This role is responsible for selling and supporting minimally invasive surgical solutions within the glaucoma space while building strong relationships with ophthalmic surgeons and key accounts throughout the territory.
Responsibilities

• Drive demand and utilization of the company's surgical ophthalmology products within assigned territory
• Develop and deliver effective sales presentations that clearly differentiate products from competing glaucoma treatment and surgical offerings
• Build and maintain relationships with ophthalmic surgeons, surgical centers, hospitals, and key stakeholders
• Analyze territory data and develop strategic business plans, including forecasting and opportunity management
• Maintain strong understanding of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive technologies
• Manage territory expenses, resources, and sales activities effectively
• Complete administrative reporting and CRM updates in a timely manner
• Attend sales meetings, industry conferences, trade shows, and training programs
• Provide customer support before and after the sale, including:
  • Responding to inquiries regarding product information, pricing, availability, and delivery
  • Assisting with order coordination, scheduling, warranty questions, and issue resolution
• Ensure compliance with all company policies and applicable regulatory and quality standards
• Maintain a professional and credible presence with physicians, distributors, consultants, vendors, and internal teams

Qualifications

• 5+ years of sales experience preferred
• Minimum 3 years of medical device sales experience preferred, ideally within ophthalmology or surgical specialties
• Proven track record of successful quota attainment and territory growth
• Strong relationship-building and presentation skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the territory
• Must reside within the Los Angeles territory
