We invite applications for a Physician Advisor at our Regional Office in Washington, DC.Unlike other U.S. health systems, MAPMG is built and led by physicians who earn competitive salaries, without income based on providing individual services. Our medical group comprises board-certified physicians across 60+ specialties. MAPMG physicians use a comprehensive electronic health record (EHR) to coordinate care. Our focus is on long-term health, prevention, diagnosing, and treating diseases effectively. MAPMG researchers and staff support innovative ideas, ensuring quality care, educational programming, and advancing best practices through research.What You Can Expect:Shifts are remote and typically 8 hours in duration. Expected turnaround time is under 2 hours for each caseManage escalations related to status designation, denials, and post-acute referralsProvide real-time support to HBS physicians for denials and status questionsReview admission appropriateness using MCG for feedback to HBS physiciansMonitor the Physician Advisor work queue actively when on shiftReview and Defend National Appeals when requiredProvide ongoing feedback to HBS physicians while making UM decisionsMaintain PA training and IRR testing as requiredMaintain PA IRR for KP Compliance, which is distinct from training IRREnsure and complete UM MD re-licensure and attestation requirementsEnsure conventional UM is followed and that the department is up-to-date with the latestPhysician Advisor and UM trendsMinimum Requirements:MD or DOBoard Certified or Eligible in Internal MedicineCurrently licensed or able to obtain licenses in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and VirginiaMAPMG Physicians:Practice patient-centered, culturally competent medical careCommunicate thoughtfully (listen, educate, advocate)Lead with integrityValue teamworkAre transparent and honestGo "above and beyond" for their patientsWe Provide You:Competitive compensationPathway for physicians to become shareholders of MAPMGComprehensive benefits including 100% employer-funded medical and dental insurance premiums, a pension plan and 401(k), life insurance, and paid leaveComplete professional liability coverage provided at no cost, 100% reimbursement for obtaining and maintaining board certification, continuing medical education reimbursement, and in-house CME opportunitiesA concierge service that works directly with you to apply for all required state, CDS, and DEA licensesThe hourly rate for this position is $93 which considers an applicant's skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, training, market data, and other relevant factors.
