Travel RN - Labor & Delivery

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor and Delivery RN with advanced fetal monitoring skills and high-risk patient management experience for a night shift position.

13-week assignment in the Labor and Delivery unit on night shift (4x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)

Unit includes 4 Triage, 11 LDR, 2 OR, NICU, and Post-Partum areas with 24/7 OB hospitalist and OB anesthesia coverage

Low and high-risk L&D patient population including neonates, adolescents, and adults

Uses Epic and eMD Allscripts charting systems

Unit utilizes SBAR communication and Omnicell systems

Required to work 4 weekend shifts per month (Friday or Saturday)

Mandatory on-call required twice monthly in addition to scheduled shifts

May be placed on call if not needed for a scheduled shift

Floating to Perinatal required as needed

Active CA RN license required

Minimum 2.5 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience required

Required certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced

Epic experience required

Allscripts charting experience preferred

Recent experience performing sterile vaginal exams required

Experience managing high-risk L&D patients required

Knowledge of the CMQCC Category II algorithm required

Advanced fetal monitoring experience required

Skilled in use of external fetal monitoring

Skilled in recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns

Able to circulate for C-sections

Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care across low and high-risk cases

Collaborate with OB hospitalist and anesthesia teams

Facility is smoke and nicotine-free; candidates must arrive free of tobacco odor

Must work most holidays with limited holiday RTO consideration

No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment

Maximum of 3 days RTO allowed for the contract

All RTO requests must be submitted upfront and cannot be modified, only canceled

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Previous staff considered for return on a case-by-case basis
