Assistant Women's Soccer Coach Full Time C/SS/L/A/D/E/S/M Boiling Springs, NC, US Responsibilities Develop and implement the intercollegiate program at the direction of the Head Coach. Develop, implement, and evaluate a successful recruitment program of prospective student‑athletes. Facilitate an atmosphere conducive to the continued academic and athletic success of student‑athletes, and monitor the academic programs of team members. Represent Gardner‑Webb University before various groups, including media and alumni. Attend staff and individual meetings with the Head Coach. Be present at all team practices and games and create an appropriate practice and game plan aimed at developing and preparing the team for successful competition. Maintain rosters, schedule practices and games (with Head Coach approval), keep team statistics, monitor and supervise the condition and maintenance of team facilities, organize and administer tournaments or events, and make travel/lodging arrangements. Assist Head Coach with recruitment of student‑athletes. Fulfill obligations to the conference and organization to which the sport is a member, including attending meetings and serving on committees. Advise the Head Coach on budgetary needs. Develop team morale so that the conduct of team members in practice, during contests, or while on the sidelines or bench reflects active interest and conforms to standards of sportsmanship. Ensure the physical condition of each team member, not permitting a student to practice or compete if not deemed physically fit by the Athletic Trainer; cooperate fully with sports medicine staff, trainers, and doctors. Report annually to the Director of Athletics, all athletically related income from outside the College (e.g., income from camps). Drive team vans when necessary to practice/game sites. Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned by the Head Coach. Qualifications 2–3 years coaching experience at the NCAA level. Goalkeeper experience preferred. Valid driver’s license, and eligibility to drive a college van. BA or equivalent combination of education and experience. Effective communication, interpersonal and public‑relation skills. Demonstrated ability to foster a positive and enthusiastic team attitude. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across cultural boundaries and work harmoniously with diverse groups of students, faculty and staff. Athletic recruitment experience strongly preferred. Experience planning, developing and administering budgets helpful.
