Systems Engineer (Evergreen)

Position Summary Evergreen (Pipeline) RequisitionThis requisition is used to build a pipeline of qualified candidates for future opportunities. While there may not be an immediate opening, candidates will be considered as positions become available based on their qualifications and program needs.Odyssey is seeking experienced Systems Engineers at various levels to support the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance (ISR) and Special Operations Forces (SOF) Directorate (AFLCMC/WI) at Wright Patterson AFB, OH. AFLCMC/WI is responsible for equipping warfighters to win the fight. The Directorate executes a $22 billion acquisition portfolio developing, producing, testing, modifying, fielding, and supporting Air Force ISR and SOF platforms, and related sub-systems. This role provides systems engineering support for DoD weapon systems, ensuring systems are secure, compliant, and resilient. The position works closely with program teams, senior leaders, and cybersecurity authorities to support system protection, risk management, and authorization activities. Responsibilities Duties may include, but are not limited to:Support systems engineering activities across all phases of the DoD acquisition lifecycle (Materiel Solution Analysis through Operations & Support)Support requirements development, analysis, traceability, and verificationConduct system design, integration, and technical analysis activitiesDevelop and review technical documentation, including specifications, interface documents, and engineering reportsSupport technical reviews (e.g., SRR, PDR, CDR) and program milestone activitiesCollaborate with program management, logistics, test, and cybersecurity teams to ensure integrated system performanceAnalyze system performance and recommend design or process improvementsSupport risk identification, analysis, and mitigation planningProvide technical input to acquisition documentation and program decision-making Qualifications Minimum Required Qualifications:Citizenship: Must be a US CitizenClearance: SecretEducation and experience:Journeyman (level 2): Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field and 3 years of related experience, 3 of which must be in the DoD; OR, 7 years of directly related experience, 5 of which must be in the DoD.Senior (level 3): Master’s or Doctorate Degree in a related field and 10 years of related experience in the, 5 years of which must be in the DoD; OR Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 12 years of related experience, 5 of which must be in the DoD; OR, 15 years of directly related experience, 8 of which must be in the DoDPrincipal (level 4): Master’s or Doctorate Degree in a related field and at least 20 years of related experience, 12 years of which must be in the DoD; OR Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 25 years of related experience, 15 years of which must be in the DoD; OR, 30 years of directly related experience, 20 years of which must be in the DoD.Experience supporting DoD acquisition programs or equivalent engineering environments Experience supporting system development, integration, or sustainment activitiesPreferred Qualifications:Top Secret clearanceUndergraduate and/or graduate engineering degree from a college or university with an Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited engineering program.Experience with armament systems (air-to-air, air-to-surface munitions, missiles, or related systems)Knowledge of DoD acquisition lifecycle processes and DoDI 5000 seriesAdditionally, the successful candidate will demonstrate the following:Technical SkillsSystems engineering processes (requirements, integration, verification, validation)Familiarity with engineering tools, modeling, and simulation environmentsRisk management and technical problem-solvingConfiguration management and technical documentationInterpersonal SkillsAbility to operate independently and as part of a multidisciplinary engineering teamStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to support complex, mission-critical programsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentAdditional InformationLocation: Wright Patterson AFB, OHTravel: Estimated 10%, as required by program needsWork Environment: Onsite/Hybrid/RemoteThis is an evergreen position designed to proactively identify and engage highly qualified candidates for future openings across Odyssey’s portfolio of acquisition and program management support efforts.
