About Us

Mobilize. Organize. Vote. Empower. MOVE Texas was founded in 2013 by a small group of dedicated students at The University of Texas at San Antonio to increase participation in local elections (MOVE UTSA). Since then MOVE Texas has gone statewide to become one of the most effective voter registration and civic engagement groups for young people in the state . Our vision is to build the political power of young people to transform democracy in Texas and beyond. We are building the next generation of Texas leadership by teaching critical organizing skills to take them from voters to effective, lifelong organizers. Our theory of change is simple: develop new leaders, educate voters and create space for the changes we need to make so that our state can be a place where all Texans can thrive.

Position Description

Our team is seeking seven canvassers who are ready to deepen community trust by directly engaging with voters to take action this midterm election. Canvasser engages with the community in direct voter contact by registering voters, gathering pledges to vote, disseminating voter guides, and supporting electoral goals. Canvassers support voter registration and get-out-the-vote (GOTV) initiatives by engaging in conversations with our base to increase civic engagement and voter turnout. MOVE Texas’ electoral campaigns are designed to increase civic participation and voter turnout among young Texans through voter registration, voter education, and direct voter contact. We’re committed to investing in young voters who remain underrepresented and are too often overlooked by traditional political outreach efforts. We do this because we love our communities and know that young voters can shift electoral margins in meaningful ways when they have the tools, information, and opportunities to participate.

Campaign Details: Webb County Midterm Election

The 2026 Midterm Election presents a critical opportunity for young Texans to shape the future of their communities. Canvassers assigned to Webb County will support MOVE Texas' voter registration, voter education, and get-out-the-vote efforts focused on increasing participation among young voters throughout the county.

Through direct voter contact, community events, and neighborhood outreach, canvassers will help connect young people with the tools and resources they need to make their voices heard. By fostering meaningful community connections and encouraging civic participation, canvassers will play a key role in increasing voter engagement and helping more young Texans participate in the 2026 Midterm Election.
