Every day, people across Washington wait to hear about their Social Security Disability claim. Behind each case, Division of Disability Determination Services (DDS) staff coordinate closely with examiners, medical providers, and federal partners. This collaboration keeps claims moving towards a decision.

As a DDS Examiner Support Specialist 2 in the Professional Relations unit, you'll help manage the documentation for medical provider contract files and ensure medical licenses are current. You'll also maintain medical provider vendor files verifying for accuracy. Often, you'll work with medical providers to verify requests are being sent to the correct address and to determine if electronic records requests can be set up. Additionally, you'll make initial and periodic updates to Congressional Inquiries about claim status within required timelines.

Please note: This position might have the option to work a flexible/hybrid schedule after initial training, based on business needs. Travel may be required as the business needs arise.

Some of what you'll do:

• Help manage and document medical provider contracts.
• Work with medical records providers to process electronic submission of records.
• Maintain accurate vendor file records for medical providers.
• Track Congressional Inquiries on claim statuses and respond within required timelines.
• Use the enterprise reporting system to monitor and track compliance dates.
• Assist the Consultative Examinations unit with additional workloads as needed.
• Travel occasionally to attend training sessions or meetings.
• Support Adjudicator 5s and other duties as needed.

Who should apply? Those with: One year of experience at the DDS Examiner Support Specialist 1 level. OR A combination of education and/or experience totaling three years. Experience in an office or customer service setting performing administrative tasks, answering telephones, operating office equipment, typing, and creating business correspondence/notes. • Adaptability: Moves between contract work, records tasks, and unit support as priorities shift.
• Attention to detail: Reviews vendor files and medical records for accuracy and completeness.
• Technology skills: Confident using technology and learning new systems. Such as our enterprise reporting systems and standard office software to complete daily tasks.
