This role works a 12-hour rotating day shift (EOWO) schedule.What You Will Be Doing:Perform duties associated with quality assurance, special projects, method development, and non-routine analytical and administrative assignmentsProvide analytical support for plant personnel on a day-to-day basisConduct analysis, synthesis, and experimentation on substances for purposes as product and process application, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and improvement of analytical methodologiesResponsible for analysis of finished products, in-process samples, raw materials and wastewater in compliance with SOP's and HS&E policies and proceduresResponsible for troubleshooting and maintenance of all laboratory instruments and equipmentProvide support for process improvement, process safety and analytical initiativesComplete daily inspections of both safety and analytical equipment in the Laboratory and Production UnitsConduct non routine chemical and physical laboratory tests of solid materials, liquids and gasesConduct tests both inside Laboratory and outside on plant process equipment.Conduct safety meetings for departmentComplete safety inspections of laboratory and equipment as assigned by supervisorRequired Qualifications:1+ years in chemical process industry with a background emphasis in laboratory environment and analytical procedures*New Grads are encouraged to apply*Bachelor of Science in science or technical related field or an equivalent combination of education and experienceTransportation Worker's Identification Credentials (TWIC)Knowledge of ion chromatography, wet chemistry techniques, ICP and wastewater analysesAbility related to lifting and carrying testing equipment to test locations within Production UnitAbility to communicate with all levels of plant personnelAbility to multi-task and manage work and assignments in a matrix-type environmentMust have strong interpersonal skills to facilitate interactions with co-workers and plant personnel in a team-based environmentGood written and oral presentation skills and leadership qualities12-hour rotating shift
