Job Description

Seeking an experienced Nursing Director to provide leadership and operational oversight for Inpatient Care services, including Medical/Surgical Units and the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The Nursing Director is responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care while maintaining operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.

This role oversees nursing operations, staff management, quality initiatives, patient safety programs, budgeting, resource allocation, and departmental performance. The Nursing Director collaborates closely with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams to implement policies, procedures, standards, and evidence-based practices that support exceptional patient outcomes and patient satisfaction.

The Nursing Director assumes 24-hour accountability for patient care services, departmental operations, staffing, and quality improvement initiatives while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required
• Master's Degree in Nursing preferred
• Current active Maine RN License or Compact RN License
• Must be in good standing with the Board of Nursing
• Previous leadership or management experience preferred
• Experience overseeing Medical/Surgical and/or ICU units preferred
• Strong knowledge of nursing operations, quality improvement, patient safety, budgeting, and staff development
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills
• Specialty certification preferred
• Leadership certification preferred
• Current BLS/BCLS Certification
• Current ACLS Certification
