26 AZ Serve VISTA - CommunityShare Outreach & Development
AmeriCorps & Senior Corps
26 AZ Serve VISTA - CommunityShare Outreach & Development CommunityShare increases the ability of public school teachers to connect with volunteers in the community that can speak on their career and expertise, providing transformative experiences to students, with a focus on low‑income populations. Through real‑world learning experiences with community members, students will become more academically engaged, develop socio‑emotional skills, be better prepared for college and career pathways, and expand their network of caring. The VISTA member will build capacity and systems to recruit and connect with community members from diverse areas. These community members will serve as volunteer mentors, project collaborators, internship and job shadow hosts, guest speakers and more in PreK‑12 classrooms. Member Duties The AmeriCorps VISTA member will create systems to streamline CommunityShare processes. This will be accomplished through the following: Asset Mapping: Map the current system of partners and educators engaged in Pima CommunityShare and help to systematically approach growth of the project across the county. The VISTA will create a survey for educators and partners identifying strengths and opportunities for growth. Strategic Planning: Develop plans that learn from current systems and help to better engage with the community. Identify the specific type of partners most requested by teachers. Collect and analyze teacher request data. Partner Development: Support project development through strengthening partnerships, developing tools for reporting and volunteer engagement. Create a structure for collaboration meetings between PCSSO, TVT, and CommunityShare to increase opportunities for discussion of collaboration plans.
