New Perspectives Counseling is dedicated to providing compassionate, client-centered therapy that empowers individuals and families to grow, heal, and thrive. Our internship program is designed to give future counselors hands-on experience, professional mentorship, and opportunities to develop essential clinical skills.

Position Overview

We are seeking motivated and empathetic Counselors to join our team.

As a counselor at New Perspectives Counseling, you will work closely with our clinical director and admin team to build a caseload of people seeking therapy. You will have the opportunity to build a part-time (minimum 7 session/week) or full-time caseload. This position may be hybrid with a minimum of 2 days in person openings.

Applicants must live within driving distance to Frederick Maryland

Compensation

LGPC 50/50 Split Part-time, 55/45 Split Full-time

LCPC 60/40 Split Part-time, 65/35 Split Full-time

PsyD 65/35 Split Part-time, 70/30 Split Full-time

Responsibilities

Provide counseling support to individuals, couples, or families.

Participate in intakes, assessments, and treatment planning (as appropriate to training level)

Observe therapy sessions and co-facilitate groups or workshops

Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with ethical and legal standards

Assist with research, resource development, and outreach projects

Participate in professional development activities, trainings, and team meetings

Qualifications

Master's or Doctoral Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related mental health field

Strong interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills

Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism

A heart for helping others and a commitment to learning and growing as a future counselor

Familiarity with counseling ethics, diversity awareness, and trauma-informed care is a plus
