Company Description Playful Minds Pediatric Therapy, LLC was founded to expand access to high-quality pediatric therapy services for children with special needs in lower Alabama. Inspired by the difficulty of finding nearby pediatric therapy roles and services, the practice was created to better support families who should not have to travel long distances for care. Located in Bayou La Batre, AL, Playful Minds focuses on child-centered, family-focused intervention in a welcoming environment. The organization is committed to partnering with caregivers to help children reach their fullest potential through play-based, evidence-informed therapy. This is a full-time, on-site Speech Language Pathologist role based in Bayou La Batre, AL. The Speech Language Pathologist will assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders in pediatric clients across a variety of developmental levels. Daily responsibilities include conducting evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, providing direct one-on-one therapy, and documenting progress in a clear and timely manner. The role also involves collaborating closely with families and caregivers, offering education and home-program recommendations, and coordinating care with other professionals as needed. The Speech Language Pathologist will contribute to a supportive clinic culture that emphasizes play-based learning, clinical excellence, and respect for each child’s unique abilities. Qualifications Strong clinical skills in Speech Therapy, including evaluation, treatment planning, and intervention for pediatric populations. Expertise in assessing and treating Speech and Communication Disorders, with the ability to tailor strategies to individual needs. Knowledge and experience working with Language Disorders, including receptive and expressive language delays and disorders. Competence in identifying and managing Dysphagia within scope of practice, including safe feeding and swallowing strategies when applicable. Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program and current state licensure (or eligibility) as a Speech Language Pathologist in Alabama. Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred; strong Clinical Fellows are also encouraged to apply. Experience in pediatric settings (clinic, school, or early intervention) and familiarity with play-based, family-centered approaches. Effective communication skills, professional documentation practices, and the ability to collaborate with families and interdisciplinary team members.
