Facilities Custodian

Custodial StaffTo perform custodial duties as assigned throughout the Gardens and all of Bok Tower Gardens facilities. Must be willing to work indoor and outdoor in all weather conditions.Essential duties include:Collect trash from all outside trash cans throughout the GardensCheck all restrooms, stock and clean as shown on schedule and/or neededSweep outside walkways of Visitor Center, Café and Gift Shop areas as neededClean and maintain buildings of BTG (which include: Visitor Center, Exhibit Hall, Bathrooms, Theatre, Horticulture Offices and Building, Information Booth, Annex Storage, Olmsted house, North Walk Restrooms, Discovery Center Restrooms, Discovery Center Classroom)Sweeping, mopping, collecting trash, dusting ceilings/walls, cleaning windows/mirrors to include interior and exteriorBe visible and available to assist visitors with questions and/or problemsMonitor all public facilities (gardens, restrooms, picnic areas, etc.) to ensure their cleanliness and presentation for the publicSkills and abilities include:Detail orientedDependable and punctual work attendanceStrong communication, interpersonal, problem solving skills and multi-tasking capabilitiesAbility to understand and follow basic oral and written instructionsAbility to operate standard equipment used for custodial/janitorial purposes – ladders, step stools, handcarts, vacuum cleaners, mops, brooms etc.Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.Ability to drive golf carts safely through GardensExcellent internal customer service skillsRequirements:High School Diploma or GED; plus minimum of one (1) year of experience in custodial/janitorial work or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experienceWorking conditions include:Some exposure to general cleaning chemicals used for janitorial purposesAble to work outside in summer and winter climatesOccasional reaching, stooping, bending, crouching, repetitive arm motions or light lifting (up to 60 lbs.)Continuous communication and/or interaction with staff, volunteers, and visitors
