FOOD SERVICE WORKER/CASHIER (FULL TIME AND PART TIME)

We are hiring immediately for full‑time and part‑time FOOD SERVICE WORKER/CASHIER positions at Cogito Academy (143‑145 South Potter Road, Lancaster, SC 29720). Applications are accepted online only. Job Summary Performs cashiering duties, including general food service work, while maintaining sanitation standards across preparation, service, and dining areas. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare food by washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables; weigh and measure ingredients. Transport pans, kettles, and trays safely between stations, stove, and refrigerator. Store foods in designated areas, following wrapping, dating, food safety, and rotation procedures. Clean work areas, equipment, and utensils. Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety requirements. Use approved recipes and production standards to achieve quality, proper temperatures, and portion control. Serve customers efficiently and politely, following service steps. Address customer complaints in a friendly, service‑oriented manner. Communicate relevant information to supervisors. Perform sales transactions, enter sales accurately, make change, accept payment cards, issue receipts, and process refunds. Manage cash drawer, ensuring compliance with overage/shortage standards. Replenish condiments, beverages, and supplies while maintaining area cleanliness. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous food service and customer service experience is preferred, but not required. Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Completion of a Florida Level 2 background screening may be required.
