Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor and Delivery

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 12-Hour Day Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) | Every other weekend required | Every other holiday required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to labor and delivery patients in an LDRP setting, supporting vaginal and cesarean deliveries across 12 LDRP rooms and 2 triage rooms
• Care for postpartum couplets and Level II nursery newborns following AWHONN staffing guidelines (1:1 labor, 1:3 couplet)
• Utilize the Obix EFM system with Philips monitors for continuous fetal monitoring
• Collaborate with OB techs, unit secretaries, and a dedicated charge RN (without patient assignment) to support unit operations
• Float hospital-wide as needed to support tasking and team nursing model
• Assist with CPAP management in the Level II nursery in coordination with Respiratory Therapy

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
• Demonstrated clinical experience in Labor and Delivery
• Must comply with a drug-free workplace policy and produce a negative drug screen for all panels
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible at the standard contract rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Proficiency across all LDRP areas including postpartum and nursery care
• Experience with Level II nursery patient populations
• Familiarity with Obix EFM or similar electronic fetal monitoring systems
