Manager, Business Development - Capital Markets For the New York Office of a Prestigious Global Law Firm Responsibilities include: Develop a deep understanding of the Firm's Capital Markets practice, including product offerings, attorney specialties, clients, and specific business development and marketing needs. Develop and execute business development plans and client engagement initiatives aligned with practice priorities. Analyze market developments, client activity, and competitor trends to identify actionable business development opportunities and support attorney outreach efforts. Leverage relevant industry research, databases, and resources (e.g., S&P Capital IQ, Refinitiv, Bloomberg, DealPointData, Pitchbook, and EDGAR) to monitor, research, and report on market trends and insights, competitor activity, and client developments. Develop and manage tailored presentations, proposals, pitch materials, and other client‑facing collateral, ensuring alignment with client needs, market developments, and the Firm's competitive strengths. Directory submissions: Manage the drafting and submission of content for numerous legal directories, awards, and related industry guides (e.g., Chambers, Legal 500, IFLR1000). Qualifications include: 5+ years of experience in research intelligence, business development & marketing (financial services or law firm background preferred) or relevant corporate experience in a professional services role (e.g., law, banking, consulting). Demonstrated knowledge of and experience supporting Capital Markets, Banking, Corporate, or related transactional practices, with direct Capital Markets experience strongly preferred. Experience leveraging market intelligence, competitive analysis, and client research to support business development strategy and client engagement initiatives. Experience with legal-research / legal-news databases and resources (e.g., S&P Capital IQ, Refinitiv, Bloomberg, DealPointData, Pitchbook, and EDGAR). Ability to work confidently and collaboratively with individuals at all levels of the Firm. Highly motivated, responsive, and conscientious, with a commitment to delivering excellent client service.
