About the Role:

As the Manager, Quality Assurance , you will lead a team of QA engineers and testers responsible for the quality of Mad Mobile’s restaurant and retail platforms, including point-of-sale, payments, online ordering, and kitchen display solutions that our customers rely on every day. This is a hands-on leadership role: you will manage day-to-day testing execution, own release quality, and partner closely with Engineering and Product to build automation and AI-assisted testing into how we ship. This position is based in Tampa, FL.

In this role you will:

• Lead, coach, and grow a team of QA engineers and testers, including hiring, onboarding, performance management, and day-to-day work assignments.
• Plan and manage testing for each sprint and release, owning test scope, schedules, and go/no-go quality sign-off.
• Stay hands-on: review and contribute to test plans, test cases, and automation scripts, and step in on critical testing when needed.
• Build and expand automated test coverage across UI, API, and regression suites, and integrate it into CI/CD pipelines.
• Ensure thorough testing across the full product footprint, including POS terminals and mobile devices, payment flows, third-party integrations, and peripheral hardware.
• Apply AI-assisted testing tools and techniques to improve test design, coverage, and efficiency, and identify practical AI use cases for the team.
• Partner with Engineering, Product, and Support to clarify requirements, triage and reproduce customer-reported issues, and prevent repeat defects.
• Track and report QA metrics such as defect leakage, test coverage, automation rate, and release readiness.
• Maintain QA processes, documentation, and standards, and drive continuous improvement in how the team tests and ships.
• Foster a team culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous learning.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, including at least 1–2 years leading or managing a QA team, preferably within a SaaS company.
• Hands-on experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Appium, Cypress, or Playwright) and API testing tools (e.g., Postman or REST Assured).
• Solid understanding of QA methodologies, the software development lifecycle, and Agile/Scrum practices.
• Experience with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira, TestRail, or Zephyr.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted testing tools and how they can be applied to everyday QA workflows.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and people management skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple releases at once.

You may be a good fit if you have these additional skills and/or educational background:

• Experience testing point-of-sale, payments, or restaurant/retail technology, including hardware and peripheral devices.
• Knowledge of payment industry standards (e.g., PCI DSS) and payment processor certification testing.
• Experience with performance, load, or security testing.
• ISTQB or similar QA certification.
• Experience with AI-driven testing platforms.
