This is a full time, 9 month position. This position is eligible for benefits. Pay is based on experience/education and ranges from: $26 - $33.29/hour.


Purpose
To provide assessment, screening, planning, intervention, evaluation, counseling, management and/or referrals concerning the health and medical care needs of students for the purpose of minimizing absences due to illness, maximizing educational opportunities and creating a healthy school climate. This includes but is not limited to:

1. Education about policies and procedures for assigned school.
2. Ongoing communication about particular student health care needs.
3. Provide first aid care for injuries and illnesses.
4. Establish and maintain health records and filing of state reports.
5. Dispense school time medications.
6. Order and distribute medical supplies for school building.
7. Obtain immunization record for all students.
8. Serve as a resource person for health education programs.
9. Conduct annual screening programs.
10. Implement and maintain a health program that includes prevention, assessment, intervention and referral.

Qualifications
Current RN license in the state of Indiana. School Nurse and/or public health experience preferred.
