Teachers will help students develop the skills necessary to be productive members of society.Instructional StrategiesDesign, write and use lesson plans that conform to the charter’s curriculum. Ensure written plans are available for review. The dean of academics will review all lesson plansEnsure lesson plans show modifications for differences in student learning stylesTeach instructional subjects according to guidelines established by California Department of Education, charter polices and administrative regulationsImplement appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials and equipment to ensure comprehension of learning styles and student needsDesign instructional activities by using data from student learning style assessmentsCollaborate with special education teachers on student Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to ensure all modifications are metCollaborate with staff to determine charter requirements for the instructional goals, objective and methods.Produce and oversee teacher aide and volunteer assignmentsEmploy technology practices to strengthen the instructional processGrowth and DevelopmentHelp students assess and enhance their study methods and habitsProduce formal and informal testing to evaluate student successCoordinate and manage extracurricular duties as assignedSponsor outside activities approved by the charter principalServe as an example for students, support mission of the charterClassroom Management and OrganizationPrepare classroom to enhance learning and to aid in physical, social and emotional development of studentsControl student behavior in agreement with the student handbookEnsure necessary and reasonable measures are taken to protect students, equipment, materials and facilitiesProvide input on book, equipment and material selectionCommunicationEstablish communication rapport with parents, students, principals and teachers through conferences.Create and maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents and community members.Present information accurately through clear communication skillsOtherEnrich job skills through professional development activitiesKeep up to date on and abide by state and charter regulations and policies for classroom teachersGather, manage and file all reports, records and other documents requiredBe active in faculty meetings and assist in staff committees as necessaryMinimum working towards an Associate Degree or higherAssociate Degree or higher* (recommended)High School DiplomaGeneral Education Development CertificateHigh School Equivalency TestUnderstanding of subjects assignedKnowledge of curriculum and instructionCapability of instructing students and managing their behaviorExceptional organizational, communication and interpersonal skills #J-18808-Ljbffr Magnolia-Public-Schools-1
